Ordinances & Resolutions


The following Ordinances & Resolutions were passed in January:

Ordinance 2014-01 an ordinance providing for the continued employment of Chagrin Valley Engineering and Jeffrey Filarski as Village Engineer.

Ordinance 2014-02 an ordinance providing for the continued employment of Santo Incorvaia as Village Prosecutor.

Ordinance 2014-03 an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with Walter|Haverfield LLP to continue to engage Margaret Anne Cannon as Law Director and Aimee W. Lane as Assistant Law Director.

Ordinance 2014-04 an ordinance amending Chapter 1331, “Licensing Contractors,” of the Building Code to update the bond requirement and to change the term “License” to “Registration.” The bond amount is being increased from $10,000 to $20,000 for each discipline for which the contractor is registering. The “license” is being changed to “registration” for clarification since for many disciplines licenses are issued by the State of Ohio.

Ordinance 2014-05 an ordinance authorizing Change Order No. 2 with Nerone & Sons, Inc. for the 2013 Culvert & Drainage Repair Program. This is an increase in the amount of $20,650.00 as a result of work related to the River Mountain/Mountain View Drive dedication work which was not part of the original contract.

Ordinance 2014-06 an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract with VanCuren Services, Inc. for the 2013 Hazardous Tree and Stump Removal Program. VanCuren Services, Inc. submitted the lowest and best bid in the amount of $43,510.00.

Ordinance 2014-07 an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to purchase a 2014 International Truck from Rush Truck Center through the State of Ohio Department of Administrative Services Cooperative Purchasing Program. The Service Department is in need of and has planned for the replacement of a 2002 International truck for snow and ice removal; for an amount not to exceed $83,144.00.

Ordinance 2014-08 an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to purchase up-fitting equipment for the new 2014 International Truck cab and chassis from Concord Road Equipment Mfg., Inc. through the State of Ohio Department of Administrative Services Cooperative Purchasing Program. As approved in Ordinance 2014-07, the Mayor was authorized to purchase a replacement cab & chassis; this Ordinance approved the purchase of the additional up-fitting equipment needed in order to meet the needs of the Service Department. The amount is not to exceed $83,020.65.

Ordinance 2014-09 an ordinance authorizing the Village to become a member of the National Joint Powers Alliance and authorizing the Mayor to purchase a 2014 Mack LEU613 R/H sit down drive truck with 28 yard Heil Half/Pack Residential Front Loader from Bell Equipment Company through NJPA Contract No. 060612-ESG; waiving competitive bidding. By becoming a member of the NJPA (National Joint Powers Alliance), the Village can take advantage of the cost-saving benefits of membership. The Service Department is in need of and planned for the purchase of an automated rubbish truck in the amount not to exceed $286,116.17.
