Orange Community Education & Recreation Levy on November 3 Ballot

On Tuesday, November 3, 2015, voters in the greater Orange district will have the opportunity to renew the current .95 mill Orange Community Education & Recreation levy, which is due to expire on December 31, 2015, with a .95 mill five-year renewal recreation levy.

Since 1975, when Orange Community Education & Recreation was formed, the department has been supported by a modest community education and recreation levy. Due to mandated changes in the State of Ohio, only renewal levies, like this recreation levy, maintain the benefit of a 12.5% homestead rollback credit on a resident’s tax bill. In essence, this .95 mill renewal recreation levy will actually cost taxpayers less than a new or replacement levy. This renewal levy will cost a homeowner a .95 mill assessment or only $29 per year for a home with an auditor’s assessed value of $100,000 – that’s less than 8 cents a day – a truly extraordinary bargain!

Renewal of this levy, which does not increase millage or cost, will maintain the existing community education and recreation services for you and your community for the next 5 years through 2020. We hope you will join your neighbors and fellow residents in Voting YES for REC! For so very little cost, we all get so much from the Orange Community Education & Recreation program.
