Superior Schools

In addition to beautiful homes, serene settings, and smarter services, Moreland Hills offers award-winning education for diverse families. No matter where a family resides in Moreland Hills, two outstanding school districts, Orange and Chagrin Falls, are available to the Moreland Hills community.

Orange Schools

The Orange School District serves more than 2,300 students living in eight municipalities, including Hunting Valley, Orange Village, Pepper Pike, Woodmere and Moreland Hills, as well as portions of Bedford Heights, Solon and Warrensville Heights.

The support the school district receives from the greater community and the quality effort by all staff has led to the Orange Schools Community remaining one of the most desirable places to live and educate children.

Chagrin Falls Schools

The Chagrin Falls School District serves 1998 students in three school locations – Gurney School (Grades K- 3), The Intermediate School (Grades 4 – 6), and the 7 – 12 Campus consisting of the Middle School, (Grades 7-8) and the High School (Grades 9 – 12).

The school system last year received the state’s top rating of Excellent for the 9th straight year, one of only a handful of schools in the state to do so. SAT and ACT test scores are consistently above national averages. 96% of last year’s graduating class went on to college. They were accepted at 149 colleges and universities in 35 states and are attending 67 schools in 22 states. Many of these students received college credit based on Advanced Placement scores. 232 students took 561 tests this past year with 79% earning a 3 or better.

The school district has earned honors at every level. Gurney School and the Intermediate School have been named Hall of Fame School Award winners by the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators. The Intermediate School and High School have been named as National Blue Ribbon Award winners by the Federal Department of Education. In addition, the Middle School has been recently nominated for this honor. Finally, Newsweek and U.S News have featured the high school as one of the “Best High Schools” in America.
